It would be enlarged in the 17th century, becoming a 59m deep well, complimented in the documents of the time for the extraordinary quality of the water.

How was the Tourism industry affected by war

By comparison, in 2014, tens of thousands of tourists on board 70 cruise ships came to Constanța Port. Since 2022, no cruise ship has

stopped at this wharf, (Observer News notes)

During these two years of war, the hotel industry in Romania also faced huge challenges. Two other aspects have brought a much smaller number of tourists especially to the sea: the waves of price hikes and the high rates applied.

From February2022 until now, cruise ships arriving at the Port of Constanța have stopped coming. Millions of euros have been lost for two years in a row. There are simply no more foreign tourists willing to spend their money in this countrys.
