Dear Students
Since the emergence of COVID-19, LCCA has employed measures to maintain a safe workplace and adopted hygiene practices to protect the health of our students, colleagues, and visitors. LCCA position to date has been to maintain ‘business as usual’ or until otherwise instructed by UK authorities.
In his press conference on 16th March 2020 Prime Minister, Boris Johnson highlighted the need to relieve pressure on the health service and indicated that the peak of the epidemic is coming faster in some parts of the country than in others, especially in London. In response, the government is adopting a series of measures aimed at slowing the spread of the virus and has advised us all to avoid non-essential contact with others social distancing and to stop all unnecessary travel. Following recent events LCCA has taken the necessary advice and guidance and as a precautionary measure will be temporarily suspending on-campus delivery for a limited period of approximately four weeks from 18th March 2020 until 19th April 2020. You SHOULD NOT attend classes in person until advised otherwise.
As part of our continuity planning, courses will be delivered to students online for the period of the suspended campus delivery, with faculty keeping in touch with students to provide full details on coursework. Please find enclosed guides to access MyPage for announcements and reporting and Canvas for access to course work, discussion forums, and assessments.
The severity of the response and potential impact on students is taken seriously by the College and we will endeavour to maintain sufficient levels of provision and support. If you think you may have coronavirus; have been to a high-risk country in the last 14 days, or have been in close contact with someone with coronavirus you should follow the advice provided by the Government and contact emergency@lcca.org.uk. Anyone showing any symptoms, however minor, should follow the advice here.
Please access and read your e-mails often because we will be communicating with you regularly during this period. We’re here to help you so please email admin@lcca.org.uk if you have any further queries or questions.
On behalf of LCCA, I would like to thank you for your understanding and cooperation in these testing times.
Best wishes,
Sharjeel Nawaz
